About our products
Temple products PVA ltd
We set up originally as a mail order company supplying anglers direct, as well as a few select shops. More recently we have started to supply to the trade, and now currently sell one brand direct to anglers, as well as a slightly different brand to the trade, including Wychwood as our biggest customer.
For those of you who don't know, PVA stands for Poly Vinyl Alcohol and was designed for the Textile, Pharmaceutical and Agricultural industries. None of the PVA which was being used for fishing had actually been designed for fishing and has been adapted from the aforementioned areas and used in the fishing market. Temple Products PVA on the other hand was manufactured from the raw chemical state and the PVA specifically designed for fishing. This took several months to achieve and took somewhere in the region of 15 different grades of PVA to be produced before we were happy that the final grade was suitable and safe for fishing.
As far as I am aware this was still the case today, and although the general standard of the PVA now beng used for fishing has improved I still don't know of another grade which has had all of the raw chemical ingredients remixed with different ratios of each chemical to produce something specifically for fishing. Most of the others, if not all of them, have simply adapted a grade which has been designed for something else and have quietly slipped it into the fishing market.
How many of you spend a small fortune on end tackle and bait, which is the most important part of your gear, only to go and wrap the whole lot in PVA and chemicals which have not been designed for fishing.

What makes our PVA so different and so successful compared to many others?
As I have pointed out, Temple Products PVA has been specifically designed for fishing and the field testing was carried out by some of the countries leading bag anglers such as Ian Poole, Mark Hutchinson and leading lady angler, Mary Crouch. When the PVA was in the development stage we were concerned about the chemicals involved, and the scent and taste that PVA bags gave off. Temple products PVA has a neutral PH and is totally undetectable by fish.
For those of you who think that the chemicals are washed away once the PVA has dissolved, think again. The chemicals remain trapped under the bait once the PVA has dissolved, waiting to be released into the carps mouth and face once the bait becomes disturbed at a later time. This will inevitably result in the fish stopped feeding and you missed out on a take.
Some of the other PVA currently available has PH levels ranging from 5 up to 13 with the good ones having a PH level of between 6.5 and 7, with neutral being 7.
Only on the hungry runs wtaer will you find that most brands will work. Unfortunately the price will not always depict whether or not the PVA you use will be the most suitable for fishing, as some of the most expensive PVA on the market is currently the worst you could possibly use.
When actual manufacturing the bags, we have used a wide 2mm seal down each side of the bag. This ensures that you retain maximum strength and the bag will not split when tying and casting, which is a common problem with a lot of other makes of bag on the market.
The bags are manufactured in clear PVA so you can see into the bag when loading, and the two top edges are left at different heights to aid with the opening of the bag, even in the dark, or you will get your money back.
All bags are available with sealing string which is actually made from the same PVA that the bags are made from. By giving you this piece of PVA to tie the tops of the bags up with, it means that you will not be using a PVA with different chemical make up and a different PH level. This tape also grips the bag which eliminates the need for you to wrap the string around of the bag upteen times, which produces residue once the bag had dissolved.

What else can Temple Products offer, other than solid PVA bags?
Well to compliment the four stock items of solid bags, we also offer the angler PVA mesh, which is available on 5mtr tubes in both boilie and standard width. This is similar in design to the solid PVA, with very little scent and taste for the fish to detect.
We also offer bio degradable nuggets and PVA sheeting for the angler who wishes to make their own bags. The sheeting is exactly the same as the PVA that we use to make bags ourselves and is available in one metre lengths up to 1000mtrs.

All of the fish shown in our photos are English fish caught during 2006 from Wellington Country Park. All fish have been caught using Temple Products PVA, Dynamite Baits and Monster Tiger Nut boilies.
